As the result of long-term thinking and R&D, 17 new functions, listed below, have been built on the basic starting point of my development project, namely Junckers’ 1D hot-press drying. That process was launched as early as 1962 and has grown into a large-scale industry.
Compact Solidiwood process technology hot-forms green sawn timber three-dimensionally (3D), in a single machine / process, into high-grade processed products, right up to and including surface treatment.
Solidiwood technology enables the following through 3D hot pressing of products: 1) drying, 2) heat treatment, 3) stress relief, 4) straightening, an increase in 5) bending strength and 6) stiffness, 7) gluing from several parts, 8) fixed lengths, 9) profiling, 10) dimensioning, 11) densified smooth, 12) topographic or 13) textured surfaces, as well as their 14) pressurised patching and 15) pressurised coating with various substances and/or 16) films, and 17) improved fire protection and sound insulation.
Traditional techniques, even when carried out with separate machines and at different times, cannot achieve the product properties produced with Solidiwood, let alone the product-specifically optimised, cumulative sum of those properties and, above all, the overall resource efficiency of production.
All this is possible in a single production unit as highly automated 24/7 production, and in as little as a few hours. No other production equipment, by-products or intermediate storage are involved. The raw material, sawn timber, ends up entirely in the product. This is a wood products factory with no chip-removing machining.
Solidiwood technology and the Solidiwood wood product range bring radically profitable business not only to the further processing of sawn timber, but also to the technology industry and to wood construction. All of this results in combating climate change and biodiversity loss at no cost.
