Now is the time to build the Solidi Finland business platform ecosystem, which, together with Solidiwood technology, will enable a new innovation to bring superior competitiveness to the manufacturing industry and to strengthen the backbone of business and society.
Competition in the world economy has increasingly shifted to competition between different networks or ecosystems. VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland: “To bring about change, technological development needs to be accompanied by a business model that links the new technology to a need that has been identified, or is emerging, in the market.”
VTT: “A company’s success is increasingly dependent on collaboration, on other companies and on entire ecosystems made up of companies that dynamically influence and interact with one another.”
The role of the public sector should be to support those niche sectors in which Finland and Finnish companies are able to lead the rest of the world and win the competition. Sufficient public funding also brings sufficient private funding, provided that the goals of the ecosystems’ innovation activities are ambitious enough.
For its size, Finland has truly extensive forest resources, a wood products industry and a technology industry serving it, as well as large companies that also produce wood products abroad. Solidiwood & Solidi’s field is therefore one of the niche sectors referred to above, and its goals are those described above.
